Is Lucasfilm's "Strange Magic Going To Be Any Good?

This year seems like a solid year for animation. Pixar's Inside Out comes out on June 19th, while there other story comes out in November. DreamWorks comes out with Home in March, and Illumination Entertainment is bringing us Minions over the summer. There are also a few not-so-heavy hitters. Like this one above. It's called Strange Magic, and it's being produced by Lucasfilm, and of course, distributed by Disney. The trailer (which I'll link below) starts out with giving us bits of a wonderful world, and then snidely shifts to making it farcical. Yeah, not a big fan of that. The animation quality is great, however the actual designs are not. It really has a "Arthur and the Invisibles" quality to it. Plus, the whole pop culture musical is a little out of place. If this movie is to be any good, It will all rest on the story quality and whether or not the characters are good. But who knows? It might be the next "The Lego Movie".
